did it open as a Parisian?????
The only Parisian I know is at the Kenwood Towne Center in Cincinnati. But with all these Kaufmann's name changes and closings in the Columbus area. Parisian is a good choice if anyone is interested in entering the Columbus market.

Checkout this Parisian!
BTW how do you pronounce Parisian?
is it "pair-iss-s-eye-on"?
wow thats a nice one
it remides me of Nordstrom
Parisian is a very nice, upper middle-market department store. Though Saks is keeping them, they are not on the level of the Saks Fifth Avenue or even Lord & Taylor stores. They are principally fashion department stores with a heavy emphasis on designer labels. Some of the larger stores now have home fashions as well as clothes, shoes, and cosmetics. The original Birmingham, AL, flagship store was a fashion department store. They have opened and closed many stores. They do surprisingly well in some markets, but not so great in others. There is no typical pattern.
Parisian store
Here in Cincinnati, we have 1 in eastgate. We used to have one that was built as Elder Beerman, then Parisian, then demolished. A Kroger now takes its place.
You pronounce it Puh-Ree-Zhin. Purezhin. Parisian.
Update: I meant in Kenwood Towne Centre, and it's closing. It closes on New Years Day. I'll try to go there with my mom and take some closing pics. This was the last one in the Cincinnati area.
Apologies if I resurrected a 6-year-old thread, but the Parisian chain is now officially defunct and has been since January. After the acquisition by Belk, they sold off all of their Michigan, Indiana and Ohio stores to Bon-Ton and until January, the only three remaining Parisian stores were all in southeast Michigan: one at Laurel Park Place in Livonia, one at Partridge Creek Mall in Clinton Township and one at the Village of Rochester Hills. Back in January, all three stores were rebranded as Carson's, which is an abbreviated name of the Chicago department store Carson Pirie Scott.

Parisian was a nice store... (I wonder if bon-ton would sell the name)
Bon-Ton was using the Parisian name under license from Saks; the license ran out the first of the year. No change in the remaining Michigan Parisian stores apart from the nameplate.
So...here are those photos from seven years ago.

It's all gone now, of course. A Nordstrom is in its place.

That would be incorrect. You are also quoting a post that is over a decade old.

Sorry, I was just trying to revive an old thread that is still relevant to this day to bring it back to life!
