We just got our first "stand alone" location this year.  It is just 2 minutes from my house.  The place is ALWAYS packed!

One of the local schools in my area sells Chick-fil-A chicken burgers for sporting events at the school.  There isn't really a stand alone local execpt for at the mall.  Maybe someday we will get one in our area.

No Chick-Fil-A stores are open on Sunday.  The founder, Truett Cathey, is a devout Christian and believes keeping the Sabbath is worth more than the dollar.  Even in mall food courts, the stores are shuttered Sundays.

We are very lucky to have them in all of our malls here and quite a few standalong locations all within 5-30 minutes of where I live.  I have loved their chicken ever since I first tried it in 1976!  We could not believe then that a place that just sold chicken could ever survive.  Who knew????

We are also lucky enough to have their 3-D billboards along the highway here.  Marketing genius!!

I just want to add that I'm a complete idiot. Up until about a year ago, I thought it was pronounced Chick-Fill-Uh. I finally heard a commercial for it and learned the truth. I know chick-fill-uh makes no sense, but chick-filay never crossed my mind as a possible pronounciation.

Actually there are Chick-fil-A locations at the Northshore Mall in Peabody and at the Burlington Mall.  The Pheasant Lane Mall in Nashua NH has one too.  But those are the only ones in New England.  There's a mess of them in the Mid-Atlantic states but they are disproportionately on-campus locations.

Why wouldn't you care about their beliefs? If the CEO of a company went around saying that white is a superior race and all African Americans are below Caucasians would you still buy their products and help pay their paycheck?

To be honest this place was my second favorite fast food restaurant but once I found out about the supporting of anti-gay organizations and anti-gay comments made by their ceo I refuse to go their now. They have the right to their beliefs however I'm not going to buy anything from a company that used the money it made from it's customers to support a hateful agenda.

We have 2 Chick-fil-a that are less than a 1/2 mile from each other in Bensalem, PA, only seperated by US Route 1.

The first is located inside Neshaminy Mall.  this location has been opened sice at least the 1980's.

The second location is on Horizion Blvd.  It is a modern day stand alone store, and opened at the same time the Horizion Center itself opened.  the Horizion Center is built on the site of Eastern State Hospital.

Nothing official yet as nothing has been filed with the town, but there's a rumor that they're going to put one on Queen Street in Southington, Connecticut in a new development planned for next to 7-Eleven.

They're are also talking about putting one on Universal Drive in North Haven, Connecticut where the Rave movie theater used to be. Cinemark built a new movie theater on the property that just opened and they demolished the old one.

CFA tends to favor new builds in new markets. I think the Arby's franchise owner balked at the corporate refresh mandate, which hastened his "retirement." It appears to have scared away potential buyers as well, as they closed without a new franchisee in place.

Chick-fil-A was in the food court at Century III Mall from it's opening until about eight or nine years ago,
when it moved into a failed Krispy Kreme location down on Route 51 in front of the Southland Shopping Center.  For years this was the only CFA in the greater Pittsburgh area.

The Chick-fil-A near the South Hills Village Mall in Pittsburgh is apparently being renovated.  I just drove by there and a big construction fence now surrounds it.  Strangely I did not get an email from them alerting me this time.  They also have a new store currently under construction at the former Taco Bell site in Bridgeville, PA.

The new Chick-fil-A in Bridgeville, PA opened this past weekend with the usual insanely huge crowds.  A drive-thru line stretching a mile long.  Meanwhile the Sonic restaurant right next door was deserted.

Looks like renovations are about done on the other location and it's about to reopen.  From the outside all I can see that has changed is they added a bit to the back of the building and installed two huge canopies around the drive-thru so that for the most part you will now be out of the rain.

The location near my office just reopened.  I stopped by to grab lunch.  The amount of seating inside the restaurant has been drastically reduced.  What used to be the entire left side of the seating area has been walled-off to create the world's biggest drive-thru window service area.  You could fit ten employees in there at least.  They also grabbed some space from the other side of the dining room to expand the kitchen.  The drive-thru is now a full-double lane with both the ordering and pick-up sides now sheltered under long canopies.  They gave up an entire row of parking spaces nearest the building to achieve this.  The drive-thru does seem a whole lot less chaotic, which is a good thing.  Often times walking in there as a pedestrian you were taking your life in your hands with all of the insanity going on in the parking lot.

Clearly the pandemic shifted a big chunk of their business away from dine-in and towards drive-thru and pick-up, and the redesign reflects this.  The very definition of a data-driven decision.
