Any of you remember FRETTER? The chain closed in 1996.

There was a big round of closings wiht Nashua, Manchester NH, and there was one in Woburn mass near Bradlees (now kohl's), Danvers Rt114, Auburn Rt.12

I don't remember Fretter, but we had "Silo" in PA/NJ/DE and many other states, which was another banner that Fretter used. I really don't remember too much and I know I talked about Silo before.

Here is a Silo Commercial:

The Fretter name magically reappeared during a remodel that took place at a Southgate, Michigan Wireless Toyz in November 2013.

Fretter itself operated a store in that building until the 1980's when it relocated further west on Eureka Road to a building that now houses a Belle Tire.

Plus, I believe this was the largest bump ever accomplished on this site...

Bought a 19" Gold Star TV from them in 1991.  They pulled a bait-and-switch on me by advertising
another set at a lower price, which was of course out-of-stock.

Was highly unimpressed when the power supply crapped out on me in just over a month.
Was less impressed when Fretter would not replace the set.  They sent it out to some repair
shop in Detroit where it was gone another six weeks.

Although they apparently repaired it well, because that thing kept chugging along until just about
two years ago.   It survived far longer than Fretter did.
