How busy is a store on a Wednesday afternoon in January usually?
Not that busy. Kinda specific though.
It really varies by type of store, and location.
When I worked for Service Merchandise our store was in an area heavily populated with
older people, mainly retired steelworkers. Hence our store would always have more weekday
foot traffic than the others in town (where most of their customers were presumably at work).
Other places I worked it would have been extremely slow.
The busiest mid-January weekdays I recall were at a Hills store in Pittsburgh when the
Steelers had made it into Super Bowl XXX. We set all kinds of records for January sales
selling Steeler gear and apparel.
