Title: Big Al Luccioni's Pizza Kit
Post by: TheFugitive on December 12, 2017, 12:46:53 PM
Big Al Luccioni was a character who appeared in TV commercials for Iron City Beer in the 1970's.
Iron City is a local beer that is pretty much sold in the immediate Pittsburgh area.  He was a burly,
jovial looking Italian fellow who would appear in ads set at weddings or bowling parties pumping out
that Iron City Beer.

The commercials were popular and a couple of years later a line of pizza kits featuring Big Al
on the package was also launched.  (I vaguely recall they had a frozen version as well).  The kits
included 2 pre-baked crusts, sauce packets, cheese and pepperoni.  They were sold a local supermarkets.
These are well-remembered in Pittsburgh for their copious amounts of cheese and unusually zingy sauce.

Alas, nobody has seen or heard from Big Al, or his pizza, in nearly forty years.
