I've noticed something when I turned my TV on a few days ago. My local CW network affiliate added a third subchannel. The subchannel, originally known as ASN (American Sports Network), is now known as Stadium. This digital subchannel focuses on sports programming. Recently, it has aired college football.
ASN was owned by Sinclair. It was losing too much money so they decided to pull the plug last Spring. However, an internet streaming service out of Chicago was interested, so they worked out a deal and now the channel is some sort of a joint venture. The new name of the channel is Stadium.
I don't recall the name of that Chicago outfit. I will ask my brother, as he is really into
streaming sports online.
The new network is called Sinclair Stadium. A marriage of ASN with
Campus Insiders, an online sports streaming service.

Last night Stadium was showing a replay of the 2014 American League Wild Card Playoff Game.
Interesting programming choice.
