Title: Lewiston (Maine) Mall losing two tenants, gaining unspecified others
Post by: retailisking on March 06, 2017, 07:37:38 PM
Olympia Sports and RadioShack leaving; Dollar Tree and Family Dollar may be coming. Interesting side note: the vacant former Sears/W.T. Grant store is being used by Mardens for storage.

That former Sears would be a great location for Marden's.  Their current store in Lewiston is very very old and reminds me of the original one in Waterville.

I think the layout of the current Mardens is more amenable to having separate salvage and carpeting sections, though.

Kind of, but the otiginal Waterville store was similar with a long U-shaped building.  Lewiston is an L-shaped store but I think it would be nice to see it replaced by a large former department store like Sears.  I prefer Marden's located in former Walmarts like Waterville, Scarborough and Ellsworth.
