Meriden Square survived JCP's closing in 2014 and ended up with Boscov's as a replacement anchor in 2015. They should be okay unless both Macy's and Sears go toes up at that mall. When I was at the mall last a few weeks ago there were not too many vacancies. - 2 in the food court and maybe 3 or 4 in the rest of the mall. - The problem is there isn't a lot of space left for smaller retailers. They moved smaller retailers around to make room for bigger retailers. Even in Macy's or Sears does pull out I still think the mall will survive. There were rumors they were courting a movie theater to take over part of the JCP spot at the time Boscov's approached them to open a store there. Maybe the mall will get that movie theater if Sears or Macy's pulls out.
