I guess that all depends on whether/how regularly Sears is paying its rent.

malls NEED A CONTINGENCY PLAN for if Sears goes! wll they just keep SEars and retire Kmart?

Nobody I know goes to Sears or Kmart to shop anymore. I think they should retire both stores.

Quite a few of the Seas stores at the mall are owned by Sears themselves.

Then Sears can either raise or lower it's own rent so as to produce a tax loss in one company
or the other.  A common bookkeeping trick.
