Title: Carts with calculators on them?
Post by: Pikapower on May 17, 2016, 06:41:22 AM
I remember a real long time ago when I little, I saw a built on calculator on a shopping cart at Wegmans. Maybe I was seeing things, but it was real.

Has anyone seen a built on calculator on a shopping cart?

I've never seen one, but it sounds like a good thing to have. I usually bring a calculator to calculate costs.

They had those on the shopping carts of some Piggly Wiggly locations in my area.

I remember them, but can't recall the store...it was a nicer supermarket, maybe Super Fresh or Acme.

Some Kroger stores had those in the early '90s. The local Hancock Fabrics used to have a couple of the carts (with the calculators intact) floating around the rear stockroom - never got pictures, sadly.

I remember when I was a little kid in the late 80s/early 90s Shoprite on Farmington Ave in Bristol, CT had shopping carts with calculators on them. I don't remember which family owned the store at that time.

Kroger had them and even a few Kmarts did at one time  I know i saw them at differnt stores  The only problem was when they got wet or cold they tended to stop working  and  even were stolen off them sometimes .
