Title: Waldo's $1 Mart carts at Kurtzhals' Farms near Romulus, MI
Post by: Hudsons81 on August 27, 2014, 08:23:29 AM
Found these when I visited in July. I have no idea how they obtained these. Apparently, Waldo's $1 Mart was some sort of a discount store chain that operated at least one store in southeastern Michigan that folded in the 1990's.

Plus, I don't even know where the gray carts were originally from.

Huh.  I lived in Southeast Michigan in the 90's, and had never heard of Waldo's $1 Mart.
Probably would have shopped there if I had.

Looks like it was set up in Highland Park Illinois but not much other info on where they may have had store(s) - Registered in 2000, cancelled in 2007 so probably not too big of a company?

The grey ones could be an older Wal-Mart cart, possibly?

Well, Wikipedia doesn't even have anything on this chain, so it must've been very insignificant.

Never shopped at Waldo's $1 Mart but when I got transferred to Ohio a customer
tried to rent me this house he owned in a town called Waldo, Ohio.

I tried to picture that.

"Where do you live?"
"Waldo."
"Where's Waldo?"

Just couldn't picture myself going through that ten times a week.
