Title: Stride Rite
Post by: truviking05 on June 29, 2005, 11:38:29 AM
Thank you for posting this topic! I exclusively wore Stride Rite shoes from the time I could walk until I was school-age. One of my earliest memories features a 2-year-old me resisting the shoes my mom was trying on me and reaching for a shiny red pair instead--lol. The SR store in my mall closed around 1993, and I remember that it had a cool playplace out front and the 80s/early 90s logo--the "brushed" looking Stride Rite logo with the little multi-colored stick figure jumping. Hard to explain, but I'll try to post a pic of it. Then we staretd getting my shoes at a large local shoe store that still sells them today. Ah, memories...we still even have a "Buy 12, Get One Pair Free" card that began with my first pair of shoes (August 1991) and ended in 1992, shortly before the store closed.

Their Huntington Mall location closed and become some glass figurine store or some crap. I remember it, because my mom would take me in there all the time

 O0

I remember getting these shoes a few times (at the Stride Rite store), they fit pretty well iirc.
