This is a cart design made by Rehrig that HomeGoods also uses today. I also found a Jamesway cart like this at True Value.

HomeGoods, a chain of off-price home fashions stores introduced in 1992, operated 289 stores at 2007's year-end.

HomeGoods offers exclusively home fashions, with a broad and always-fresh array of giftware, home basics, accent furniture, lamps, rugs, accessories, children's furniture, and seasonal merchandise.

This chain operates in a standalone and superstore format, which couple HomeGoods with a T.J. Maxx or Marshalls. Standalone HomeGoods stores average approximately 27,000 square feet in size.

In 2008, we expect to net 25 additional stores and believe that the U.S. market could support approximately 550 to 600 HomeGoods stores in the long term.

The Homegoods in Hamden, CT's TJMaxx is closing.  I believe a wall will be built and a new store will use the former Homegoods space.

In April 2012 it was announced that HomeGoods would be opening in the former Border's at the Simsbury Commons in Simsbury, CT but now company officials say it won't open until late 2013.

There's a brand new HomeGoods store opening in 2/3 of the old Linens-N-Things in Avon Commons here in Avon, OH, at some point in the near future. The rest of the space is going to be a Carter's children's clothing-type store, I believe. The sign for the Carter's store is obnoxiously tiny and hard to see from the main drag of the plaza.

Went to HomeGoods for the first time today. Nice store.

Also TJX plans is planning on expanding this chain. Not only do they plan on opening more free-standing stores as well as adding them to larger Marshalls and TJ MAXX stores.

I hope Newington can get a HomeGoods. Can't see how the Berlin Turnpike never had one. Not too many places to go in to though on the Newington end. There is a piece of land in the Stew Leonards/Sam's/LA Fitness development that's approved to be built on. That would be a good spot for a few stores. There is also the former Norteast Utlities site just north of Best Buy that has been sold for a retail development, but no information has been given on what will go there.

Isn't the Silas Deane Hwy in Wethersfield close enough to Newington? They have a Marshall's-HomegGoods all in one deals.

If they hadn't just put one inside the Bishop's Corner Marshall's I would've suggested them and TJ MAXX taking the old Sports Authority in the Westfarms Plaza on the Farmington/West Hartford line. (TJ MAXX is already in that plaza).
