I know
I know this is a little minor topic but I have been seing this type of lighting very often on new stores
instead of having the letters being two sided on the store front with lighting between the the sign itself is either not lighted itself with lighting behind or the sign is one sided with lighting behind it below I provided an example below created in power point
BTW THIS NEW TYPE OF LIGHTING IS IMPLICATED ON THE STORE FRONT ONLY
whats your opinion?
heres a real life example
on a stop & shop
Heres a better example
it makes stores look expensive:cool:
ANOTHER EXAMPLE

The new Shopko store that were designed by Chute Gerdeman Retail have backlit signs over their entrances.
I like the type of sign Sears uses (also seen sprint and other use this) where it's blue during the daytime, and then it changes to white during night when the lights go on.
Hudson's Bay: all stores are gradually switching to backlit signs:

I prefer this style. It looks better to my eye.
I like this style as well. It looks classier!
One more from a location in Quebec City (Hudson's Bay in French)

Boscov's has had backlit signs for at least 35 years now.
